Job Description

Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification) Services, is looking for a Accessibility Consultant or Staff or Senior Level Architect/Engineer to join our Building and Construction team in Kennesaw, GA. 

The Accessibility Consultant / Staff or Senior Level Architect/Engineer will support the Building and Construction business by managing small to medium-sized projects. The work will primarily include performing Handicap Accessibility Assessments, Property Condition Assessments, building enclosure consulting for new design and the evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for existing buildings.  

 Duties

  •  Perform Handicap Accessibility Assessments per ADA/ANSI/FHA
  •  Work along with our National Client Group with key clients pertaining to handicap accessibility
  •  Perform Property Condition Assessments per ASTM E2018-15
  •  Perform initial review of architectural drawings, shop drawings and submittals pertaining to the handicap accessibility and some building enclosure
  •  Assist with/perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions including handicap accessibility, wall cladding systems, and roofing
  •  Prepare technical reports
  •  Prepare sketches and details using AutoCAD, Bluebeam and/or hand-written techniques
  •  Manage a challenging major project, or multiple projects, supervise team members and client relationships

Requirements

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering plus 5 to 8 years of industry experience – strongly desired
  •  Technical knowledge of building construction
  •  Field experience or strong interest in working onsite
  •  Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
  •  Ability to efficiently work on projects independently and in a team environment
  •  Excellent organizational and project management skills
  •  Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  •  Strong technical writing and communication skills
  •  Ability to travel outside local area, depending on local work load and project locations
  •  Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  •  Ability to maintain professional relationships and involvement in their field of technical expertise through professional associations, committee work, and industry involvement
  •  Handicap Accessibility Assessment experience on multi property types preferred
  •  Field experience with diverse building types preferred
  •  AutoCad/Bluebeam/Sketch-up proficiency preferred
