Job Purpose
Prepares, edits and disseminates sports informational material for the College of Charleston. Plans and promotes agency programs and activities, including any of the 19 varsity sports. Coordinates work-study, student and game day staff for the athletics communications department.
Minimum Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years’ experience related to the development and dissemination of sports informational material at a NCAA Division I college. Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of journalistic principles, practices & techniques of disseminating information to the public through news media. Knowledge of grammar, composition & AP style. Knowledge of the methods & techniques used in planning, composing, designing, editing & producing publications. Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with local, regional and national media & the general public. Ability to supervise subordinate personnel. Knowledge of the procedures for the production of sports information publications, including digital and social media. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, Sidearm Sports, & NCAA Livestats.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
This position requires evening and weekend work, as well as travel with select teams and to off-campus venues. Requires a general knowledge of computers and graphic design for publication layout. Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs of event equipment, computers and boxes of supplies. Must have personal vehicle to commute from different sporting venues.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Washington State Centers of Excellence and local industries to update current programs as future state and local job training requirements change.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Associate of Applied Technology degree in Mechatronics or closely related field such as Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology AND three (3) years’ automated industrial systems troubleshooting experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Systems Engineering AND three (3) years’ automated industrial systems experience OR eight (8) years of industry related experience in automated industrial systems.
Teaching experience, and /or management experience.
Demonstrated work experience in at least two of the three key areas listed below:
Industrial Three-Phase Electric Motor Control Systems Installation.
Mechanical Power Transmission Systems Installation, Troubleshooting and Repair.
Robotics Control Systems Interfacing, Installation, Troubleshooting and Repair.
SALARY STATEMENT: Starting salary is $74,009 (non-negotiable). Faculty may be eligible to advance every other year; current top step is $104,250. Salary is for a 173-day contract; additional compensation is available for summer and moonlight teaching, and doctoral and vocational stipends. Please note the salary may be adjusted for the 2024-2025 year pending the legislatively funded cost-of-living. Maintains the grounds of a formally landscaped college campus and off campus sites (Patriot’s Point Athletic fields, Grice Marine Lab, Stono Preserve and Lockwood). Performs chemical applications, pond/water feature maintenance and general landscape maintenance. Other duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance such as policing the grounds, debris pickup, fertilizing, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, unclogging drainage as needed, etc.

Pesticide applications license is required. Job Purpose
Maintains the grounds of a formally landscaped college campus and off campus sites (Patriot’s Point Athletic fields, Grice Marine Lab, Stono Preserve and Lockwood). Performs chemical applications, pond/water feature maintenance and general landscape maintenance. Other duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance such as policing the grounds, debris pickup, fertilizing, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, unclogging drainage as needed, etc.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED and the ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Knowledge of commonly used landscape plants and irrigation systems helpful. Pesticide applications license is required. Must have valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Requires knowledge of commonly used landscaping plants. Must have the ability to keep a log to document all spraying and chemical applications and ensure that it is current at all times. Ability/knowledge to perform routine safety inspections on all spraying or chemical application equipment. Must be reliable and responsible. Prefer working knowledge of methods/procedures associated with maintenance of plants and flowers, both annual and perennial. Must be able to recognize and know when and how to treat ornamental pathogens and diseases. Position requires basic computer skills and working knowledge and experience in using e-mail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is preferred. Experience in utilizing on-line work order systems is a plus. Skill with electronic devices such as iPhone and iPad is preferred. The Associate Director is responsible for managing assigned recruitment territory. The Associate Director will research the territory and develop plans and strategies to increase enrollment and yield. Implementing recruitment strategies requires extensive travel (10-15 weeks annually including but not limited to high school visits, college fairs, informal interviews, admitted and prospective student events, and school counselor events). Requires significant follow-up and relationship building with various constituencies (students, parents, school counselors, community-based organizations, Alumni, Parent’s Council, Board members etc.) in order to meet enrollment goals determined by the Division of Enrollment Planning. Advising may occur both on campus or while travelling assigned territory. A specialty population may be assigned for evaluation in addition to the specific territory. The Associate Director is responsible for evaluating applications and credentials for roughly 1,000 to 2,000 applications per year. This requires adherence to the admissions policies and procedures of the Office of Admissions, the Division of Enrollment Planning, and the College of Charleston. Associate Directors sit on higher level committees that help shape the incoming class and make final admissions decisions to reach university enrollment goals.

Job Purpose
Maintains the grounds of a formally landscaped college campus and off campus sites (Patriot’s Point Athletic fields, Grice Marine Lab, Stono Preserve and Lockwood). Performs chemical applications, pond/water feature maintenance and general landscape maintenance. Other duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance such as policing the grounds, debris pickup, fertilizing, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, unclogging drainage as needed, etc.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED and the ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Knowledge of commonly used landscape plants and irrigation systems helpful. Pesticide applications license is required. Must have valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Requires knowledge of commonly used landscaping plants. Must be able to operate landscaping equipment/tools, including sprayers and spreaders, and recognize/identify/treat ornamental plant and tree pathogens and diseases. Knowledge of pond and water feature maintenance would be helpful. Knowledge of athletic fields with Bermuda grass, common areas of zoysia grass and St. Augustine grass is required. Must have basic knowledge of chemicals used in grounds maintenance. Must know how to apply fertilizer/pesticides. Knowledge in appropriate pesticide applications, fertilizing and preventive treatments according to state regulations is required. Must have the skill to apply chemicals to grounds/plants/bedding areas using a tank sprayer or backpack sprayer. Required to analyze pesticide and fertilizing treatments and report problems to supervisor. Must read, understand and keep MSDS sheets current at all times. Must have the ability to keep a log to document all spraying and chemical applications and ensure that it is current at all times. Ability/knowledge to perform routine safety inspections on all spraying or chemical application equipment. Must be reliable and responsible. Prefer working knowledge of methods/procedures associated with maintenance of plants and flowers, both annual and perennial. Must be able to recognize and know when and how to treat ornamental pathogens and diseases. Position requires basic computer skills and working knowledge and experience in using e-mail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is preferred. Experience in utilizing on-line work order systems is a plus. Skill with electronic devices such as iPhone and iPad is preferred. Must have the ability to keep a log to document all spraying and chemical applications and ensure that it is current at all times. Prefer working knowledge of methods/procedures associated with maintenance of plants and flowers, both annual and perennial. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor and manage expenditures of the instructional budget.

Serve as a key College leader in Guided Pathways and serve on the Guided Pathways Strategic Planning team and Guided Pathways Advisory Council.

Provide appropriate training and support for adjunct, probationary, and tenured faculty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
