What you will do!
As an Infrastructure Systems Analyst, you will provide enterprise level network and server monitoring support to entities of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Department of Human Services (DHS) as well as community partners and customers. You will work in conjunction with departments of the Office of Information Services (OIS) in diagnosing and resolving issues relating to systems performance issues and serve as a point of escalation for technical issues as part of the Network and Server Infrastructure Monitoring Team within Customer Services and Support.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing enterprise monitoring that includes design, log management, configuration management, reporting, alerting, analysis, development, testing, implementation, dashboards to teams throughout the organization with a high-level of automation configuration and support of OHA/DHS infrastructure environments. You will work in conjunction with direct management, team leads, internal operational teams and the State Data Center. You will also be responsible for assisting or creating the overall design and maintenance of networking and server monitoring components for OHA/DHS.
Additionally, you will utilize technical skills and abilities of a very high order in the analysis and resolution of technical problems within the areas of OIS departmental support, customer assistance, technical contractors, systems management staff and systems operations staff.

This is a full-time, permanent position that is classified and represented by a union.
This position will be located in Salem at 3990 Fairview Industrial Drive SE. 


(a) Six (6) years of information systems experience in Systems Analysis.
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in Systems Analysis.
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
AND two (2) years of information systems experience in Systems Analysis.
(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above


  • Experience with the use of Enterprise Network and Systems Monitoring Tools. (I.E. SolarWinds, What's Up Gold, Nagios, PRTG, ManageEngine).
  • Working knowledge of and experience with network management protocols (e.g. SNMP, SNMP Traps, Syslog, NetFlow/SFlow, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of and experience with LAN/WAN and Data Center environments.
  • Experience in the design of Active Directory Infrastructure including LDAP, Federated Services, Group Policies, Certificate Authority, VPN, Kerberos, Lightweight Directory Services.
  • Experience with AD forests, domains, trees and trusts.
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Windows Servers design, engineering, and implementation of Windows Server 2008 R2 and above.
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP services.
  • Experience deploying and managing end-to-end monitoring of network and server infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages including: VBScript, Perl, or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge and skills required to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium size enterprise branch network.
  • Ability to design routed and switched network infrastructures and services involving LAN, WAN, wireless, and broadband access for businesses and organizations.
  • Knowledge, experience and expertise in the following areas: Connecting to a WAN; Implementing network security; network types; network media; routing and switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP and OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating and configuring IOS devices; extending switched networks with VLANs; determining IP routes;
  • Solid understanding of MPLS networks.
  • Linux experience.
  • Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
