Business Intelligence Developer

Elon University is currently accepting applications for a Business Intelligence Developer.  The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for providing BI solutions. This individual will have an immediate impact on enhancing operational and strategic data informed decision-making for the University. Through this role, this position would have the opportunity to provide insights that impact policy, practice and outcomes at Elon University working in a team environment to design, develop, and deliver enterprise business intelligence and analytic solutions. This position will report to the Director of Enterprise Solutions. Elon University offers an engaging work environment at a premier higher education institution with exceptional benefits.  Master’s preferred; Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering requiring.  Minimum of 2 years direct work experience developing business intelligence solutions.

Special skills or experience include:

Demonstrated experience with enterprise scale databases and environments such as MS SQL Server, Cloud DBs or Oracle.
Experience with BI technologies, such as SSAS, MS Power BI, Tableau and other BI applications.
Demonstrated ability with SSIS or other related ETL tools.
Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
Experience with BI development best practices such as agile methodologies, source code control, prototyping, and testing.
Experience with troubleshooting enterprise BI systems and processes.
Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Knowledge and/or experience with one or more of the following languages: T-SQL, C#, Python, R, JavaScript, or ASP.NET.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of industry trends including data mining, visualization and predictive modeling.
Supporting BI technology in a higher educational setting.
Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague data structure.
Data warehouse analysis and design experience.
Experience with developing data models.
