Job Description

PeopleTec is currently seeking an Offensive Cyber SME to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

We are looking for a motivated self-starter to provide hands-on technical leadership to our growing team of cyber and space professionals who design, implement, test, and deploy cyber effects in a lab environment to conduct vulnerability assessments for enterprise, weapon, and space-based systems.The candidate will assist the Project Manager and other staff members to meet the Customer's mission objectives.

 

Duties Include:

  • Leverage knowledge of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) to conduct Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO) against weapon systems in a lab environment to emulate real-world threats
  • Lead and conduct cyber vulnerability assessments of enterprise, weapon, and space-based systems and recommend best cybersecurity practices to government customers to mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Research cyber hardening techniques and apply solutions to customer systems
  • Research and develop novel software exploitation techniques
  • Design and enhance cyber ranges to provide test architecture for vulnerability assessments
  • Employ COTS techniques/tools such as BlackEnergy, Burp Suite, Cobalt Strike, Core Impact, Endgame, Kali, Kerrdown, Metasploit, and Mimikatz to conduct offensive cyber operations
  • Use knowledge of Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) and countermeasures such as Carbon Black, Elastic Endgame, SecureOnix, and Splunk to define OCO approaches that evade DCO analysts and tools
  • Author technical reports of OCO approaches, results, and recommended mitigations
  • Proactively engage with customers by presenting project updates, technical details, and demonstrations
  • Interface with other staff members on cyber virtualization, cyber AI/ML, and cyber embedded teams to create holistic lab capabilities to support system of system assessments

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Red Team or penetration testing using both unclassified and classified exploitation frameworks and tools
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or M&S
  • In-depth understanding of cyber security policies, tools, threat mitigations, network topologies, and secure networks
  • Technical and project leadership experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • One or more of the following certifications: OSCP, CISSP, GPEN, CEH, or Pentest+
  • Experience supporting the space, cyber, or intelligence communities
  • Travel: Up to 10%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment. A Top Secret with an active SCI is preferred. (TS/SCI)

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 8 years of experience is preferred. Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
