PeopleTec is currently seeking a Mid-Senior Level Software Developer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Software Developer to perform development, testing and maintenance of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Message Injection Tool (GMIT) product in a government-operated, engineering and integration Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) lab facility. The GMIT product provides playback of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) element messages into the GMD System specifically the GMD Fire Control (GFC).

Duties Include:

• Assist with the ongoing migration of code from Java language to C++
• Understanding BMDS Interface Design Documents (IDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure the GMIT software can properly read, parse and inject messages
• Developmental testing will be a critical aspect of the job and the candidate will work with management to define a test strategy for unit, regression and formal qualification testing
• Investigate and implement a development repository using GIT or other approved solution change management system to track baseline releases
• Generate software documentation to include software requirements, user's manuals and installation instructions
• Work jointly with Configuration Management, Information Assurance and Cyber personnel so the software can be RMF compliant and accredited

Required Skills/Experience:

• 10+ years of demonstrated Software Development experience
• Strong development experience with C++
• Experience with or knowledge of one or more of the following: C++, C, Python, Java
• Experience with Software Development Processes (Agile Methodology highly desired)
• Software debugging and testing experience - Understanding of configuration control process and change management
• Disciplined experience in developing system documentation & processes
• Working knowledge of UNIX and Linux variants
• self-starter, have strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working in a team environment Certification Requirements
• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Computing Environment (CE) Certification (Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, etc.)
• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+, etc.)
• Travel: None
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other related scientific field

Desired Skills:

• Experience in DoD BMDS programs and operational knowledge of GMD program
• Experience with message formats such as: VMF, TADLJ, BXS, XML, ATOMs
• Knowledge of/Experience with the Objective Simulation Framework (OSF)
• Ability to develop scripts for unit testing of source code functions/modules
• Experience with code analysis tools such as Klocwork or Fortify
