Job Description

Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Student Records Processing Specialist on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.

 

Provide superior customer service when answering phones, emails, and assisting visitors to the office. Preparation of student records for scanning, filing, retrieving and retention for historical purposes. Requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to perform routine duties.  Strong knowledge of word processing and the ability to accurately enter data or information using a variety of software applications. This position uses strong multitasking skills to succeed within a high-volume environment.  Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

 

The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:

 

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one year administrative or clerical experience, preferably in an educational institution.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Experience with Banner software preferred. Requires word-processing and accurate keyboarding skills.
  • Strong ability to access, input and retrieve information and/or data using a variety of computer applications.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, efficiency, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to function in a high-volume and multitasking environment.
  • Knowledge of office procedures including filing. Skill in using office equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities unable to obtain a driver’s license.  In such cases, a valid Florida ID is required.
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay (currently $37.25). This fingerprinting fee ($37.25) is non-refundable.

*High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.  All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

 

Minimum physical qualifications:

 

  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work under moderately stressful conditions to maintain required level of accuracy, productivity and to meet critical deadlines.

 

The annual salary is $25,000Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position.  Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement.  Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
