Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer or the Chief Administrative Officer, the Business Operations Coordinator provides transactional support for the finance, operational and administrative functions of the Region, including budget monitoring, daily finance transactions, local vendor relationships, facilities management, fleet management, HR, IT, and records/reports.  Is the lead system user/trainer for software business applications.   Provides operations backup support for the Region in the absence of the COO/CAO. Responsibilities: 1. Financial Administrative Support: Provides administrative budget support including expense coding; financial report dissemination, initiating, monitoring and approving regional procurement transactions, Collaborates with department leaders to ensure that programs are executed within budget. Ensures location processes are established and functioning for all cash and card transactions. Supports department directors with analytics for monthly forecasting of expenses. 2. Lead System User/Trainer for Business Applications and IT Services: Utilizes appropriate systems and trains staff in their use. Troubleshoots phone and computer issues for Region. Reviews and assists with tech services requests. 3. Facilities/Asset Management Support: Ensures repairs are completed within budget and appropriate system is used to pay vendors. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors supporting each physical location. Obtains proposals for potential new vendors. Provides information/data needed for developing Business Plans for real estate transactions. Is liaison with other sectors for shared facilities/assets . Updates risk management system with current values/status as appropriate. 4. Fleet Management Support: Maintains fleet inventory records. Ensures appropriate and timely maintenance. Files and maintains insurance claims and follow up with estimates/repairs. Is liaison with Fleet Management in other sectors. 5. Events: Participates in planning events meetings. Maintains insurance certificate applications, financial collection processes, and appropriate forms and codes used for regulated items including alcohol. 6. Reports/Data Information: Provides guidance and data for grant reporting. Prepares various internal reports. Responds to internal/external requests for information and/or documentation. Acts as Region point of contact for FOCIS information. 7. Operations SOPs: Develops, maintains and distributes a regional SOP Manual. Provides training to ensure consistent processes/procedures related to operations functions throughout the Region. 8. Volunteer Coordination: May coordinate and train volunteers to assist with less complex daily transactional work such as data input, clerical support, etc. Qualifications: Education:   Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration required.   Applicable experience may be applied towards education requirement but must be in addition to years experience required below. Experience:  Minimum 2 years’ financial or facilities  administrative support experience in community organizations, government agencies, non-profit organizations or business. Experience working effectively with volunteers and board members.  Experience in coordinating finance and administrative functions including information systems and facilities. Skills and Abilities:  Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work to maximize team performance and meet customer expectations. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with attention to detail.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain collaborative work relationships within the organization and with external stakeholders.  Other:  Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws. Develops and implements a written plan for identifying, educating, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors across the Region.  Leads focused growth in major gifts area; works directly with top major gift prospects in coordination with the Region’s Major Gift Officer(s).  Oversees implementation of organizational campaigns in the Region, such as Holiday Campaign, Disaster Relief, and March is Red Cross Month.  Acts as a senior leader in the Region and directs the Regional Development team with respect to strategic decisions for the organization; ensures that the Region meets all reporting requirements related to fundraising.  2. Fundraising Targets and Portfolio Management:  Accountable for achieving or exceeding Region’s minimum fundraising target ($15M+ in the current fiscal year), and managing to meet the fundraising expense target.  Revenue target may increase due to major domestic disasters.  Maintains own portfolio of assigned major donors and prospects, responsible for personally making face-to-face donor solicitations and meeting national/regional fundraising metrics. 3. Prospect Development:  Works with community Board members and other leadership volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward appropriate donors.  Identifies potential planned giving prospects among assigned donors and partners with Region’s assigned Gift Planning Officer to solicit those prospects.  Implements programs/activities to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors at the $2,500 level or higher, with an emphasis on maximizing revenue for the American Red Cross. 4. Relationship Development:  At the direction of the Regional Executive, serves as primary staff liaison for representatives of largest corporations and foundations for solicitation, cultivation and stewardship purposes.  Collaborates with national ARC headquarters development staff to identify and maximize fundraising opportunities.  Serves as the primary staff liaison for the Board’s Philanthropy Committee.  Orients new Board members to their fundraising responsibilities and ensures that they receive the support they need to be successful volunteer fundraisers. 5. Staff and Volunteer Management:  Works with the Regional Executive, DFVP and DVP to determine reporting structure for the fundraising staff in the Region (including the Community chapter fundraising staff) based on the Regional structure, and ensures the use of best practices for measuring staff members’ performance.  Responsible for staff development of Major Gifts Officers and Associates.  6. Carries out any additional assignments required to fulfill the mission of the American Red Cross. Qualifications: Education:  Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is highly desirable. Experience:  Minimum 10 years of fundraising leadership experience.  Proactive development leader with an established track record of increasing philanthropic revenue from diverse constituencies.  Experience in the development and implementation of a broad-based fundraising program including personally opening doors, cultivation and successfully closing major gifts.  Significant expertise with the Region’s funding community highly desirable.  Progressive experience in successful development programs and knowledge of “best practices” in development. Corporate and/or Business-to-Business sales leadership experience may be substituted for fundraising experience.   Management Experience:  Minimum 7 years of supervisory experience. We are currently seeking a full-time General Maintenance Tech. to work in our Los Angeles, CA, location.  The position is 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (40 hours/week with great benefits and paid time off. Under general supervision, perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.  Use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment.  Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.  Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations. Responsibilities: 1: Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties involving routine tasks and responsibilities. Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.   Repair or replace concrete floors, steps and sidewalks.   Paint structures and equipment as needed.   Install and correct minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural problems.   Document installation and repairs as required by regulatory agencies.   Install, operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related mechanical equipment. 2: May move and store furniture and equipment. 3: Estimate time and material costs of various projects. Requisition new supplies and equipment. 4: May plant and tend flowerbeds. Prune shrubs and trees to enhance growth and appearance, water lawns, shrubs and flowerbeds and spray fertilizer and insecticides. May rake and remove fallen leaves, sweep external walkways and staircases and may remove snow using power removal equipment or shovel. 5: May drive vehicle to other locations. 6: Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Scope: Full knowledge of job. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job. Contact within department and occasionally outside of organization.  Qualifications: Education: High School or equivalent required. May require a trade license. Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Related experience includes skill and knowledge of painting, HVAC, carpentry, pluming, masonry and electrical work is required.   Management Experience: N/A Skills & Abilities: May require a valid driver's license and clean DMV record.   May be required to have basic computer skills.   Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills. Skills and knowledge of painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work is required.   May have on-call duties.   Ability to work on a team. Travel: May drive vehicle to other locations. * Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
