Senior Program Director, Resilience Academies, is a new position for our organization.  This staff member will be responsible for developing and delivering an approach for our Resilience Academies, Electrification Convenings, and advisory roundtables in coordination with the Building Resilience Futures team, relevant Enterprise market offices, and external partners.  While this staff member will sit on our national team, each Resilience Academy will be targeted and relevant for a specific geography’s housing stock and climate hazards.  The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, creative, and effective team player eager to support both the Enterprise team and external partners in preparing for the changing climate.  The position requires developing and delivering an effective capacity-building curriculum for affordable housers, relationship building, cohort management, resilient multifamily affordable housing subject matter expertise, and the ability to perform a wide array of tasks in a fast-paced environment with light supervision.  Ultimately, the position represents an opportunity to more fully integrate best practices of resilience within affordable housing development nationwide. The Senior Program Director, Resilience Academies, will report to the Vice President, National Initiatives.  This staff member will also coordinate with the Senior Vice President of Public Policy & Senior Advisor, Resilience; staff members with resilient affordable housing subject matter expertise; staff members with affordable housing policy expertise; staff members with event planning expertise; staff members with program evaluation expertise; and staff members with expertise on local partners.  While this staff member may be based in any Enterprise Market location , they will regularly travel within the United States once Covid restrictions are lifted.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ECD’s mission is to establish well-designed affordable housing, while connecting our residents to vital services they require. Operating in the US Mid-Atlantic region, ECD is already the fifth largest non-profit affordable housing company in the country – including over 16,000 homes for families and seniors in over 110 communities in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Most of the portfolio was financed with Low Income Housing Tax Credits. ECD works in close partnership with community and national foundations; federal, state, and local governments; local public and private service agencies; and other nonprofits. The SVP, Development, will lead ECD’s talented development team including approximately 15 mission-driven associates comprised of team leaders, development managers and associates (based in three offices: Silver Spring, Baltimore and Richmond) who oversee our projects from concept through completion. ECD’s annual development activity typically involves 5-10 communities under construction and 7-20 in predevelopment at various stages. The SVP, Development position requires strong leadership, communication, organizational, relationship management, real estate, strategic, financial and negotiation skills. Ideal candidates will bring a passion for ECD’s mission, substantial experience in multifamily development (affordable and market-rate housing), and significant management and leadership experience. This SVP will work with external and internal customers. The selected candidate will join ECD at an exciting time. The organization is building out a large and growing pipeline of development opportunities including new construction, large scale acquisition/rehabilitation projects, and mixed-income communities in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania. ECD utilizes a broad range of financing sources including Low Income Housing Tax Credit equity, public and private debt, and conventional private equity, and is exploring innovative structures to increase its impact and meet the need for high quality homes that are affordable to residents.
