The Sr. Auditor will assist Internal Audit Management in performing their duties of enhancing and protecting organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. Under general supervision, performs increasing complex audit assignments. Work collaboratively with internal business partners in a consultative / coaching approach to evaluate and improve controls, processes, and activities.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1.    Initiates the planning process, coordinates information gathering meetings, and performs research for the related project.  2.    Proposes an audit plan (audit approach, audit objectives, and audit programs, including test plans) for approval by the Manager - Audit.  3.    Performs audits on time and in conformance with auditing standards promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors. Plans and performs audit follow up activities. 4.    Under the direction of the Manager - Audit, conducts test work and clearly documents and concludes on work performed.  5.    Analyzes processes, risks, and controls. Documents work using narratives, flowcharts, and risk control matrices.  6.    Drafts formal audit reports assuring sufficient clarity, conciseness, and grammatical and spelling accuracy.  7.    Drafts presentations to the Board Audit Committee, management teams, and various committee members as requested.  8.    Facilitates clear and effective communications with the Manager - Audit, management, and audit clients throughout the project. 9.    Develops recommendations to address issues detected and sells recommendations to the audit client. Clearly documents work performed and identifies weaknesses/issues. 10.    Proactively researches business and control best practice concepts in order to apply in an audit as appropriate.  11.    Maintains a very high level of confidentiality. 12.    Develops and maintains productive client and staff relationships, which may include communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.  Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Certified Internal Auditor required or must obtain within 1 year in the position 3+ years of experience in internal auditing Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point Ability to Travel up to 15% of time Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Experience with audit management software, data analytics, visualizations tools, and agile audit methodology. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Additional certifications such as CPA, CISA, or CFE. Knowledge of non-profit industry including ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Knowledge of systems used at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Under the direction of the assigned business unit senior leadership represent the senior leader when needed and develops and drives the comprehensive vision and growth strategies that align with ALSACs enterprise strategic plan.  Enables the business unit to improve revenue and decrease expenses through enhanced efficiency and effectiveness, including seeking opportunities for cross-program/enterprise impact. Responsible for ensuring assigned business unit fundraising and operational support programs meet or exceed goals and operate in an efficient, cost effective, and productive manner.  Drives results by working closely across business units to ensure complete and integrated solutions that meet the needs of ALSAC. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1.    Serves as the strategist for the assigned business unit, helping to align the business unit goals to the strategic plan. Collaborates effectively across Development and the enterprise to develop and implement strategies to ensure that ALSAC drives fundraising growth, ensuring achievement of fiscal goals as efficiently as possible. 2.    Monitors, evaluates and makes recommendations on resources adjustments in the assigned business unit to meet goals and KPI's that are aligned to the strategic direction. 3.    Develops, mentors, and coaches a team of professionals in assigned business unit regarding fundraising, administration, procedures/policies, analysis, and communication. Leads, inspires recruits, teaches, and retains top talent in assigned business unit while maintaining diversity across all dimensions. 4.    Establishes and enforces policies and procedures within the assigned business unit that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. 5.    Operates within established budgetary parameters. Utilizes strong problems skills to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others in an appropriate style; proactively identifies and prevents potential problems; develops problem-solving skills among team members as appropriate. 6.    Serves on various ALSAC strategic project teams (divisional and cross-functional) in order to ensure that the organization's strategic plan goals are met. 7.    Works with external partners to optimize strategies for maximum impact to the mission, with a focus on cross-team collaboration and integration. Serves as a link between external partners and ALSAC, ensuring two-way communication of strategies, priorities, accountabilities and dependencies.  8.    Plays a role in helping translate analytics projects into digestible business presentations and utilizing this data in business decisions. Responsible for working in an ambiguous environment, communicating and evangelizing a dynamic and progressive strategy for the business unit.     9.    Works with operations and strategy leads across the organization to build, deploy, test and formalize processes and systems for cross-team collaboration. Develops organizational norms and behaviors to accompany processes and systems. Utilizes social and political capital to work across the organizational nimbly and effectively.  10.    Maintains a positive relationship and ongoing communication with third party organizations and volunteers throughout the assigned business unit; represents ALSAC-St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in all areas in such a manner as to reflect positively on the hospital and our fundraising organization. REQUIREMENTS •    Eight or more years of fund-raising or relatable experience •    Previous experience through levels of progressive management responsibility including supervision, budgeting, strategic planning, organizational development, cost control, sales, manpower allocation, and special events fundraising  •    Demonstrated excellent diplomacy skills with ability to build effective, professional relationships with internal and external key teams •    Successful record of accomplishments with increasing responsibilities in leadership positions •    Knowledge of philanthropic communities •    Ability to deal with ambiguity and the unexpected  •    Self-directed and capable of working independently with limited oversight •    Speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations  •    Excellent public speaking abilities required •    Ability to understand extremely complex verbal or written instructions and execute on those instructions •    Knowledge ordinarily acquired through attainment of a Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of experience •    Master’s preferred.
