Position Title : Development Director

We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Development Director to implement our development plan. This is a key role in helping to grow the organization. Essential Functions: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Development Director (DD) will provide strategic leadership for the planning, implementation, evaluation, integration, and administration development department. The DD will lead a team of development professionals in achieving the organization’s revenue goals, increasing income, and educating and engaging more individuals and institutions in the to advance the organization’s mission. The DD will be part of a skilled team of professionals working to raise at least $5 million annually. The DD manages a multi-faceted fundraising program; central to this role will be prioritizing personal solicitation of major donors, events, online and direct marketing, and foundation fundraising.
Duties:
Work closely with the Development Team to establish fundraising goals, set strategic priorities, advise on program development, and develop and meet annual budget
Manage and build a growing team of development professionals, provide on-going guidance, direction, and motivation, hire team members and provide oversight to consultants as needed, delegate appropriately and ensure strong internal communication and coordination, and evaluate performance and provide opportunities for personal and professional growth
Work closely with the Boards of Directors to engage them more deeply in the fundraising process and to help cultivate a strong relationship between board members and the organization
Help track cultivation and prospecting activity and ensure the execution of action items
Solicit contributions from major individual donors and steward long-term relationships with donors
Develop relationships with prospective individual and foundation donors to increase funding
Research prospective institutional and individual funders
Work with internal partners to draft and edit proposals and reports
Track proposal and reporting deadlines, ensure that all submitted materials are accurate and comply with any funder requirements
Manage all grant activity in a central database and deliver regular reports to the Executive Director
Serve as the point person for management and maintenance of funders database and ensure efficient system utilization across all units
Oversee the implementation of ongoing programs to improve the renewal rates of existing annual donors, creatively use events to upgrade donors and maintain a diversity of revenue
Work with the VP of Operations to develop annual budgets and income projections
Stay abreast of political and philanthropic trends and ensure that Board and staff are informed of changes in legislation and other trends and initiatives that might impact giving
Competencies:

Well-developed writing, interpersonal and organizational skills and experience managing staff
Commitment to organization’s mission and understanding of current policy issues and political landscape
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with, and quickly gain the respect and support of, various constituencies, including a visible chief executive committed to raising money, established development management team, active board members, other senior leadership, program directors and donors.
Experience as an effective communicator who is articulate and persuasive in both the spoken and written word; must be adept at crafting materials and making presentations to a variety of audiences

Work Environment: This job operates in a typical office setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a permanent full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel Requirements: This position has frequent travel throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000/year
Commensurate according to years of experience. All employees must meet a 6-month probationary period. Continuation of this position after one year is dependent on the successful candidate meeting jointly determined performance goals.

SAFE Alliance seeks a Bridge to Safety Crisis Advocate for the Community Services Program in the SAFEline department. Title: Conservation Field Representative – Potomac Watershed Supervisor: Director of Conservation Location: Warrenton, VA Job Classification: Full-time Non-Exempt
About PEC
The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) conserves and restores the lands and waters of the Virginia Piedmont, while building stronger, more sustainable communities. Founded in 1972, PEC is a locally based, community-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit and accredited land trust. At the core of PEC’s approach is a focus on educating, engaging and empowering people to effect positive change in their communities.
Your Role
The Field Representative to work with landowners, land managers, and federal, state and local agencies to further PEC’s land conservation priorities and land use policy activities in PEC’s nine-county service area . The geographic focus of the position will predominantly be working in communities in PEC’s service area within the Potomac watershed (Clarke, Loudoun, and northern Fauquier counties). The Field Representative will work to advance the following goals:
Executing and/or facilitating conservation real estate transactions that will further PEC’s goal of conserving 1 million acres in the PEC region. These transactions include, but are not limited to, donation of conservation easements by landowners, purchase of conservation easements by PEC, fee simple acquisitions of land, and conveyance of conservation lands to public conservation agencies and/or private conservation buyers.
Creating and sustaining a network of informed residents, donors, policymakers, partner organizations, and others ready to advocate for policies and actions that support land conservation, resource protection, and enhanced public access to nature.
Ensuring that PEC’s work embodies best practices identified by the Land Trust Alliance ’s Standards and Practices, particularly in regard to the stewardship of land owned and held in conservation easements by PEC.
Increasing positive awareness of PEC and building support for PEC programs.
Areas of Responsibility
The Field Representative will be responsible for executing a diverse portfolio of land conservation, natural resource restoration, land use policy, and civic engagement efforts that further PEC’s mission. Examples of activities include:
Developing and implementing land protection strategies through:
Identification of key at-risk properties, landscapes, and resources;
Outreach and education to landowners, farmers, and professional advisers on conservation tools such as voluntary conservation easement donations, Purchase of Development Rights programs, and other conservation programs; and
Coordination with other private partners and public agencies (such as local Soil and Water Conservation Districts, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the USDA National Resources Conservation Service).
Directly implementing and/or facilitating implementation of a suite of land management practices that enhance wildlife habitat, restore water quality, and/or improve agricultural productivity on public and private lands in the Piedmont.
Serving as part of PEC’s stewardship team, responsible for ensuring appropriate monitoring and stewardship of PEC’s conservation easement and fee land portfolio.
Serving a key staff role supporting land conservation funds and their advisory committees.
Serving as PEC staff representative on the Blue Ridge Conservation Alliance and similar regional conservation initiatives.
Initiating, leading, or participating in local community-based conservation planning and policy efforts, such as historic preservation, water quality improvement, habitat restoration, and/or agricultural land management demonstration projects.
Working directly with staff, citizens and allied organizations to organize the public around campaigns, policies, and outcomes supportive of the PEC mission, including adoption of language in the counties’ comprehensive plans and support or opposition to specific land use threats and opportunities.
Collaborating with PEC communications and advancement staff to secure appropriate funding and highlight the benefits of PEC’s work in the region.
The Field Representative reports to PEC’s Director of Conservation, but will also work closely with other field representatives, departments within PEC, and members of the PEC Board of Directors.
This position will be based at PEC’s headquarters office in Warrenton, VA.
Required Qualifications
A working knowledge of conservation policies, conservation easements, and real estate transactions.
Experience working with rural landowners and the farming community.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, forestry, natural resources, planning, public policy, environmental studies, or a related field.
Ability to organize, coordinate and manage diverse activities and deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a diverse constituency with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, including elected officials, non-profit representatives, community groups, and residents, and experience leading public outreach and/or education campaigns.
Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and oral, including ability to write, edit, and proofread written materials for use in communicating public policy and conservation opportunities internally and externally.
Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office productivity software.
Requires minimal supervision.
Willing to work some weekends and evenings.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years work experience or graduate degree in agriculture, forestry, natural resources, planning, law or a related field.
Familiarity with conservation grant programs preferred (such as NRCS Agricultural Land Easement program, the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation grant program, the Virginia Agricultural Cost Share program, and/or funding opportunities available through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation).
A working knowledge of local land use planning and zoning in Virginia.

This position is a non-exempt / hourly position with benefits. Salary range of $22 to $31.25 per hour (equivalent to $45,000 – $65,000 annually), depending on qualifications.

Your Role

Ensuring that PEC’s work embodies best practices identified by the Land Trust Alliance ’s Standards and Practices, particularly in regard to the stewardship of land owned and held in conservation easements by PEC.
Increasing positive awareness of PEC and building support for PEC programs.
Areas of Responsibility
The Field Representative will be responsible for executing a diverse portfolio of land conservation, natural resource restoration, land use policy, and civic engagement efforts that further PEC’s mission. Examples of activities include:
Developing and implementing land protection strategies through:
Identification of key at-risk properties, landscapes, and resources;
Outreach and education to landowners, farmers, and professional advisers on conservation tools such as voluntary conservation easement donations, Purchase of Development Rights programs, and other conservation programs; and
Coordination with other private partners and public agencies (such as local Soil and Water Conservation Districts, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the USDA National Resources Conservation Service).
Directly implementing and/or facilitating implementation of a suite of land management practices that enhance wildlife habitat, restore water quality, and/or improve agricultural productivity on public and private lands in the Piedmont.
Serving as part of PEC’s stewardship team, responsible for ensuring appropriate monitoring and stewardship of PEC’s conservation easement and fee land portfolio.
Serving a key staff role supporting land conservation funds and their advisory committees.
Serving as PEC staff representative on the Blue Ridge Conservation Alliance and similar regional conservation initiatives.
Initiating, leading, or participating in local community-based conservation planning and policy efforts, such as historic preservation, water quality improvement, habitat restoration, and/or agricultural land management demonstration projects.

Required Qualifications
A working knowledge of conservation policies, conservation easements, and real estate transactions.
Experience working with rural landowners and the farming community.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, forestry, natural resources, planning, public policy, environmental studies, or a related field.
Ability to organize, coordinate and manage diverse activities and deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a diverse constituency with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, including elected officials, non-profit representatives, community groups, and residents, and experience leading public outreach and/or education campaigns.

Hours:
This role is expected to work 40 hours/week on the HHC campus, except when offsite for HHC work-related purposes. The existing schedule is eight hours per day between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

HHC benefits are available to employees who consistently work a minimum of 24 hours a week. Benefits offered are subject to change at HHC's sole discretion.

Sick Leave: HHC provides eligible employees with Paid Sick and Safe Leave (PSSL) and Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL) in accordance with the requirements of Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA).

Vacation : Upon hire, employees earn 4.62 hours of vacation per paycheck up to 120 hours (3 weeks) in a year. Accruals are adjusted to increase vacation earned per hours worked based on length of employment with HHC.
Holidays : HHC observes twelve (12) holidays throughout the year. Salaried employees are paid for these holidays according to the nationally recognized observation day for each holiday. About the Role
The Prospect Development and Systems Manager, a new role, will be an integral development team member, providing a dynamic opportunity to help guide and facilitate development and portfolio systems while serving as the primary manager of the BGA’s WealthEngine and RelSci platforms and donor database, Raiser’s Edge.
We seek an exceedingly meticulous, self-starter who can define this role at a time of growth and innovation for the organization–in a competitive environment in both our news and policy realms. This valued colleague will work closely with the vice president of development, senior manager of major and individual giving, senior manager of institutional giving, and events Manager while sometimes coordinating with the CEO and executive assistant.
This role has two core tenets of responsibility:
As the primary manager of Raiser's Edge daily operations and functionality, they will prioritize data integrity and help inform efficient data-informed fundraising strategies. They will implement and functionalize our systems, mailed appeals and the department’s broader stewardship and engagement plans to support the BGA’s 2024 fundraising goals and tactics.
Focusing on the BGA’s prospect pipeline development and new portfolio system, they will supercharge philanthropic outreach by identifying and tiering WealthEngine and RelSci data lists, appropriately folding in, and tracking board member contacts for optimal portfolio moves management.
Prospect Development and Portfolio System Management
Collaborate closely with the Development team to align portfolio program operations with overall fundraising objectives. Co-lead bi-monthly portfolio meetings, tracking needed moves and activities across budget line prospects and supporters up for renewal.
Lead the strategic implementation and optimization of WealthEngine and RelSci’s comprehensive wealth and philanthropic screening data and relationship mapping.
Analyse WealthEngine data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for fundraising plans.
Leverage data insights to identify, prioritize, and segment potential donors and institutional partners to properly populate the development team’s portfolios, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Responsible for gift entry and processing, working with the BGA finance team and external accounting firm to manage, process, and accurately record all donations of checks, credit cards, stock, and electronic funds transfers.
Responsible for drafting, preparing, and sending acknowledgment letters weekly, emphasizing timeliness, accuracy, and record-keeping.
Provide weekly reports and track fundraising progress towards fiscal year goals and Board impact (give/get). Respond quickly and accurately to data retrieval requests such as mailing lists, event RSVPs, and proposal status queries.
Manage the Raiser’s Edge (RE) database by assessing existing procedures, implementing optimal business solutions to maximize its potential, and integrating best data practices and action tracking to meet future reporting and analysis requirements.
Partner with the senior manager of major and individual giving to manage all large-scale appeals and department engagement mailings, from timelines to building segmented lists, project pricing, and final fulfillment with printer and mail house.
Create and manage segmented lists and reporting of critical engagement touchpoints (e.g., gift receipts, phone call logs, thank you notes, etc.), appeals, and other tactical requests.
Systemize collecting and updating actions, notes, proposals, and constituent information.

Prospect Development and Portfolio System Management
Collaborate closely with the Development team to align portfolio program operations with overall fundraising objectives. Co-lead bi-monthly portfolio meetings, tracking needed moves and activities across budget line prospects and supporters up for renewal.
Lead the strategic implementation and optimization of WealthEngine and RelSci’s comprehensive wealth and philanthropic screening data and relationship mapping.
Analyse WealthEngine data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for fundraising plans.
Leverage data insights to identify, prioritize, and segment potential donors and institutional partners to properly populate the development team’s portfolios, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Generate comprehensive reports and analysis of portfolio performance, larger fundraising and engagement plans, and wealth screening outcomes. KPIs could include donor acquisition and renewal rates, ROI analysis of appeal and engagement activities, qualification indicators and outreach (typically four points of contact per new prospect), etc.
Provide in-depth prospect research as needed.
Raiser’s Edge & Systems Administration
Manage daily Raiser’s Edge data entry and operations, including instituting and upholding ongoing thorough measures that ensure its integrity, accuracy, and donor information security.
Responsible for gift entry and processing, working with the BGA finance team and external accounting firm to manage, process, and accurately record all donations of checks, credit cards, stock, and electronic funds transfers.
Responsible for drafting, preparing, and sending acknowledgment letters weekly, emphasizing timeliness, accuracy, and record-keeping.
Provide weekly reports and track fundraising progress towards fiscal year goals and Board impact (give/get). Respond quickly and accurately to data retrieval requests such as mailing lists, event RSVPs, and proposal status queries.
Manage the Raiser’s Edge (RE) database by assessing existing procedures, implementing optimal business solutions to maximize its potential, and integrating best data practices and action tracking to meet future reporting and analysis requirements.
Partner with the senior manager of major and individual giving to manage all large-scale appeals and department engagement mailings, from timelines to building segmented lists, project pricing, and final fulfillment with printer and mail house.
Create and manage segmented lists and reporting of critical engagement touchpoints (e.g., gift receipts, phone call logs, thank you notes, etc.), appeals, and other tactical requests.
Systemize collecting and updating actions, notes, proposals, and constituent information.
Support development events by standardizing events to database integration, ensuring data collection, relationship tracking, and reporting.

What you will do!
Early & Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) Quality Improvement Analyst. Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic & Treatment (EPSDT) is a federally mandated Medicaid program which covers more than one-third of Oregon Health Plan members (approximately 500,000 children and youth under age 21). Starting in 2025, the program will begin to extend EPSDT benefits to young adults with special health care needs (YSHCN) up to 26 years of age, as well as provide certain benefits to youth while incarcerated. This primary purpose of this position is to lead EPSDT program monitoring, quality assurance and quality improvement efforts. This position will work closely with the EPSDT Research Analyst and with the Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) and Fee-for-Service (FFS) Open Card Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance teams.
Child Welfare and Medicaid Liaison. The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, coordination, and oversight to statewide Medicaid health policy, programs and treatment service delivery system for children, young adults and their families. This includes oversight of managed care systems, evidence-based practices, and providing or arranging for technical assistance to maintain the programs. The employee focuses specifically on the planning, policy and program development, budget monitoring, and implementation of specialized programs serving children, young adults and families in child welfare programs.
Medicaid BH Children Multi-system Analyst (LIMITED DURATION). In accordance with Senate Bill 1557 (2024), the Medicaid Behavioral Health Multi-system analyst will work to ensure OHA prioritizes child, youth and family-centered supports towards prevention and recovery, are provided with access to all services for which the children or youth are eligible regardless of their disability type or family situation, and are not restricted to a single-service setting or delivery system. This work aims to support youth and their families in accessing the appropriate and comprehensive home and community-based services and supports intended to prevent crises and hospitalization from happening or reoccurring and provide stabilization in the event of crisis. This includes collaboration between multiple state agencies and community partners to deliver wraparound, child, youth, and family-centered, trauma-responsive, culturally and linguistically appropriate, disability-affirming and family-focused supports to children, youth, and their families, including foster families.

Position mission statement:
As Wild Animal Initiative’s first Major Gifts Officer, you will lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives to nurture current donors, identify prospective major donors, foster relationships, and drive fundraising efforts. You will join a growing Development team and be our first staff member dedicated to personally cultivating relationships with new and current donors to solicit the gifts that make our work possible.
You will use a donor-centric and moves-management approach to set a major gifts strategy and meet annual and long-term fundraising goals. This means that you will focus on perceiving our donors' needs, interests, and motivations and strategically guide them through various stages of engagement and solicitation. The ultimate goal is to increase funding by carefully nurturing connections and aligning donor interests with the goals of Wild Animal Initiative (WAI).
You will develop and implement strategies that foster strong donor relations and ensure that our supporters feel valued, engaged, and connected to what we're doing. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Wild Animal Initiative departments, using your communication skills to cultivate partnerships and drive support.

Oversees the Bureau of Civil Affairs. Position Overview
The Office of General Counsel is seeking to hire a dynamic, organized, detailed-oriented individual with a license to practice law in Illinois to serve as the Deputy General Counsel for the Division of Compliance. The Deputy General Counsel will oversee several bureaus within the Department of Human Services, will liaise with others in the Department and other State and federal agencies, and will serve as the Department’s Chief Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Officer.
Job Responsibilities
Serves as the Deputy General Counsel for the Division of Compliance.
Oversees the Bureau of Civil Affairs. Conducts complex legal research and writing and provides legal advice and interpretation to Executive Staff regarding the full range of legal issues related to Civil Affairs, which includes but is not limited to ensuring compliance with non-discrimination, anti-harassment, sexual harassment, anti-retaliation and workplace violence administrative directives, and Federal and State non-discrimination and harassment laws.
Serves as Chief EEO/Affirmative Action (AA) Officer for DHS.
Serves as full-line supervisor.
Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective liaison relationships with and among other Divisions in DHS, State and Federal Agencies, the public, professional and lay groups, and employees.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college.
Requires possession of a license to practice law in Illinois.
Requires four (4) years professional experience in the practice of law.
Preferred Qualifications (in priority order)
Four (4) years of professional experience conducting investigations and drafting investigation reports.
Four (4) years of professional experience responding to and advising regarding governmental investigations, ethics investigations, sexual harassment investigations or civil rights violation investigations.
Four (4) years of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, training staff, and preparing and signing performance evaluations.
