Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Countdown Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative and programmatic support to The TED Countdown team, including the Countdown + Impact Lead, the Curation Lead, and the Media Lead. This position will require interaction with departments across TED and with the Leaders’ Quest team (TED’s co-collaborators on Countdown), as well as multiple Countdown partner organizations. The Coordinator will also provide support to the Consulting Lead for a Countdown-related extended project. This role is a temporary position through the end of 2021, with the potential to extend if role permits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scheduling meetings with internal and external parties
  • Building and maintaining program documents
  • Researching people and projects in the climate space
  • Organizing input and ideas from multiple parties
  • Drafting official copy in the Countdown style
  • Managing the Countdown email inbox
  • Light event production support
  • Ad hoc administrative projects and tasks

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Exceptional communication, research and writing skills
  • Ability to synthesize and organize data and information, including that of a confidential nature
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Adaptable to different personalities and work styles
  • Willingness to contribute however possible to ensure the overall effectiveness of the position
  • Passionate about climate issues
