Job Description

Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for adjunct Welding Instructors on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida. 

 The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:

  •  High School diploma or GED.
  • AS or AAS degree from a regionally accredited institution in Welding Technology/Fabrication or related field and/or Accreted Technical Trades Apprenticeship preferred.
  • Documented experience with specific processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, OAW, PAC).
  • Documented standard industry safety training (OSHA 20 hour or 40 hour training certification course, preferred).
  • Knowledge and experience in Welding Theory, Metallurgy, Technical Mathematics, Welding Symbols and Blueprint reading.
  • Knowledge of the American Welding Society (AWS) (API) welding codes and standards.
  • Current welding certifications and continuity logs (6G, GTAW, SMAW, GMAW – Pipe Welding preferred).
  • Experience in Stick, MIG and TIG processes.
  • An on-site Welding Test will be administered.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $37.25). This fee ($37.25) is non-refundable.

 *High school diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.  All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
