Job Description

Entravision Communications Corporation (NYSE: EVC) one of the fastest-growing Hispanic multi-media companies seeks a Network Administrator to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, monitor, and support all physical and virtual servers
  • Administer Windows Active Directory
  • Support, maintain and ability to design core network services like DHCP, DNS, WINS in Active Directory environment
  • Provide technical leadership and management of data center, backup and disaster recovery of supported systems
  • Develop and maintain documentation of infrastructure deployed to support Windows and associated applications
  • Receive and respond to escalations from the support team. Escalate issues to management, if necessary
  • Collaborate with team members and mentor junior staff to execute the IT strategy in a cost-effective and timely manner
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices in risk management techniques and integrate new methods and tools as appropriate
  • Manage infrastructure projects from inception to production support
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure project deliverables are met and support SLAs are met
  • Maintain and administer all servers, storage and virtualization environments.
  • Establish and maintain network users, the user environment, directories and security. 
  • Ensure optimum availability of the system to the end-users.  
  • Identify changes within the company that may adversely affect the corporate infrastructure and make recommendations for taking the appropriate action(s). 
  • Handle miscellaneous projects as directed.
  • Ensure continual stability and reliability of server, storage and virtualized environments within the company and monitor any changes that may adversely affect the corporate infrastructure and take the appropriate action(s). 
  • Resolve server, storage or desktop issues by analyzing and collecting information about the existing problem(s) and performing diagnostic procedures in order to isolate the source of the problem(s). 
  • Respond to incoming telephone, voice-mail, e-mail and in person requests for assistance from users with problems concerning their phone systems, desktop problems, access to the network and the operation of various software applications. 
  • Interact with users in a professional, courteous and patient manner at all times; communicate technical information in a non-technical manner as needed.
  • Analyze and collect information about existing problem(s) and perform diagnostic procedures in order to isolate the source of the problem(s).  Provide resolution to problem(s) within a timely manner.  Provide status updates to end-users and management as necessary.  Escalate more complex issues to IT Management for appropriate problem resolution or direction.
  • Perform server upgrades and data migrations as necessary. 
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of disaster recovery plans.
  • Experience with technologies: IP routing, DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, Wifi, MDM.
  • Provide assistance to support the Helpdesk and provide support to other IT team members as needed.  
  • Participate in the creation of IT troubleshooting methods and procedures.
  • As directed, procure new services, hardware, software and any other necessary IT equipment.
  • Contact vendors for assistance with complex or un-resolvable problems as necessary.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum AA degree, Bachelor’s degree preferable, in Information Systems or a related major.
  • Must have more than 4 years of Systems Administration experience in an IT Support position;
  • Verifiable experience with VMware, Citrix, Veeam, Backup Exec and Terminal Services is required
  • Verifiable experience with Windows 2003/2008/2012 server administration in an enterprise environment
  • Verifiable experience with TCP/IP DHCP, WINS, DNS, NTFS permissions administration and Management
  • Verifiable experience with Active Directory scripting and or PowerShell
  • Experience with SQL database environments and administration
  • Extensive IT support
  • Ambitious,/Motivated  Self-starter with the ability to complete work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects, provide support with a high level of Customer Service
  • Ability to learn new technologies to implement and support in a Dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication, Symantec Antivirus solution, Cisco VPN and Firewall, etc is a huge plus;
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Operating Systems; 
  • Enthusiastic, committed, proactive and resourceful; can be counted on to get the job done
  • Able to work autonomously as well as being a good team player
  • The following skills are a plus:
    • Experience with Macintosh systems (Mac OSX)
    • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining telephony systems
    • Experience maintaining local and wide area network hardware.
