An Archeologist is responsible for interacting with BLM management, land owners, state government officials, interested parties and the public to provide information and develop opportunities for partnerships. Job duties include conducting routine cultural inventories, site testing and excavation, and providing professional recommendations on the significance of sites, structures, or objects identified in surveys. We are looking for someone with the ability to conduct outreach and educational activities about heritage resources and values for the public and interested parties at schools, in the field, or at other community venues. Applicants that have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the examples listed on the job announcement may qualify for this position.
