PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
This position will be under general supervision of the Fleet Manager. The Mechanic will exercise reasonable judgment in performing routine maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles. Performs repair work, diagnoses, and resolves breakdowns and other malfunctions including roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. When needed determines to take vehicles out-of-service or put back in service based on current condition.
Additionally, the mechanic will monitor and record the status of company vehicles, equipment, and related items. The employee must have the ability to handle routine documentation and paperwork regarding Fleet Maintenance records or work orders. Regular full-time attendance is required during office hours. In addition to regularly scheduled hours, this position is subject to “on-call” duties and varying shifts. A valid Texas driver’s license is required, as well as an acceptable driving record (as specified in the current Vehicle Loss Control Guide).
