WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

We are looking for a Scrum Master experienced with leading delivery for high-profile ecommerce systems to facilitate and support our agile development teams. This Scrum Master will lead feature delivery on Redcross.org for the Fundraising and Marketing business units. The ideal candidate will have:

  • a deep understanding of Scrum principles, 

  • excellent communication skills, 

  • proven track record of leading high-performing remote teams 

  • and ideally, knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Web Accessibility practices.

As a Scrum Master and delivery lead, you will play a crucial role in fostering a collaborative and empowered team environment, ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.
 

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Coach and mentor agile teams in implementing and following Scrum practices.

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders to define and prioritize backlog items.

  • Remove impediments and obstacles that hinder the team's progress and escalate issues when necessary.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and the organization.

  • Track and communicate team progress using relevant metrics and tools.

  • Write clear, audience adjusted documentation when required to communicate and organize stakeholders that not only include the scrum teams, but also business and leadership stakeholders

  • Manage, and where needed, integrate multiple, simultaneous business initiatives, priorities and workstreams into an ongoing master delivery plan

  • Act as a servant leader, supporting the team's self-organization and decision-making processes.

  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and stakeholders to improve the overall agile processes in the organization.

WORK LOCATION & SCHEDULE: The selected candidate will work 100% While this person may work remotely from home anywhere in the USA, they will work on an East Coast schedule (Core Working Hours 9:00am-5:00pm Eastern).


Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.  The American Red Cross does not sponsor employment visas.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

  • 8 years total work experience in software delivery, including a minimum of 3 years as a scrum master.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in agile software development environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Scrum principles, practices, and theory.

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work with, collaborate and occasionally negotiate with multiple, but often separate teams across an overall organization

  • Ability/willingness to gain near-subject matter expert level knowledge of products, project and stakeholder prioritiesExperience with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and metrics.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Must be available to start work at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (preferred qualifications:

  • Experience understanding of large-scale systems with many integration points and dependencies.

  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Web Accessibility practices.

PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $ 100,000 - $ 115,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**
