In the Office of Admissions, the team is passionate about developing student friendly processes and delivering a high-level service experience.
Hawkeye Community College’s Admissions Office has partnered with the Independence Community school district located in Independence, Iowa, to help students identify their educational goals and provide them with the financial tools to be successful. As the College/Career Transition Counselor you would be providing support and direct services to students, parents/families and school staff in the Independence Community school district. This will be achieved by connecting students and families with community and higher education resources to support success in school as well as facilitate planning for their post-secondary educational journey.

Essential Job Functions
Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assists students with course selection, creation of academic plans, registration process and facilitating the transfer of students to postsecondary institutions and/or workforce training programs.
Assists students with developing academic, college, career goals and opportunities regarding possible post-secondary plans with a focus on juniors and seniors.
Collaborates with school counselors, administrators, and teachers to support academic success, career exploration, goal setting, leadership development, college planning, and campus visits for all students.
Responsible for case management to include: tracking, proactive communications, follow-up with students, faculty, and other resources to increase student success.
Provides students and their families with information regarding application, educational offerings, financial aid, assessment testing and course placement, and related district policies and processes.
Assists with summer programs, college orientation sessions, and other recruitment or concurrent enrollment events.
Develops and/or connects students to summer melt programs to assist in removing barriers to enrollment intent.
Promotes concurrent enrollment offerings to high school students enrolled at a specified school district(s) and/or Centers.
Collects and analyzes student data and consults with school and college staff to identify and refer students in need of more intensive academic support such as tutoring, extended learning, mentoring, and counseling.
Monitors attendance, academic performance, college prep course selection, enrollment in AP and dual enrollment courses, credits needed for graduation, and progress towards goals of students.
Collaborates with school staff to develop a curriculum to build the foundation needed for success in post-secondary education.
Partners with college service teams (admissions, advising, financial aid, student activities, registration) to support a smooth transition from 12th grade to post-secondary education and/or workforce training for students and families.
Conducts detailed work with FAFSA to include activities designed to increase FAFSA completion and communication surrounding FAFSA process and follow-up to include award letter review, issues with FAFSA verification and navigation of Financial Aid process.
Connects with work-based learning coordinators, Iowa Intermediary Network and other identified resources to provide opportunities for greater career exploration for students.
Utilize district post-secondary data including remedial rates, post-secondary intent, persistence, enrollment and demographics to CCTC programming and CCTC program goal setting.
Works with students who attend Hawkeye Community College for one year after graduation as part of the student’s support system; connects them with resources and works with the Academic/College Success Advisor to ensure success.
Participates in campus committees and professional development as directed/approved by the college and school district.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience in secondary and/or postsecondary education settings.
Knowledge and experience in programs serving low-income, minority, and ELL students and families.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the general public.

Anticipated schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Adjusting of schedule may be needed to align with the needs of the school district and could include a potential for occasional weekend or evening hours.
Work is performed onsite at the Independence Community Schools and on the Hawkeye Community College main campus in a combination of an office and/or classroom setting using technology. Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. This is a specially funded position through June 30, 2027. The grant is not eligible for renewal, however there is a possibility for the position to be extended.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience.
The salary range for this position begins at $43,600.

Assist the Compliance Director in performing data entry and tracking expenses, contributions, and other information required for Federal Election Commission, IRS, and state compliance reports, using Microsoft Excel, Google sheets, and Wrike.
Work with the Compliance Director and LCV’s external compliance vendor to prepare required revenue and expenditure data for the creation of campaign finance reports, and help resolve any questions or issues.
Maintain internal systems for tracking reportable activity as well as calendars to track when various reports are due.
Communicate with staff across departments to stay up to date on electoral programs, obtaining all needed information on reportable activities.
Maintain a contributions database and tracker, and produce reports with respect to the organization’s electoral grants and contributions impact.
Support the Compliance Director in tracking and maintaining state and other corporate registrations annually, including charitable solicitation registrations, sales/use tax exemption certificates.
Track all contracts received for legal review and ensure contracts are executed and on file. Serve as a resource about the processes and needs from LCV staff.
Assist the Legal & Grants Coordinator with grants management procedures and systems, and serve as a resource about the processes and needs from LCV staff.
Provide general administrative support to the Legal & Strategic Initiatives department, including but not limited to processing payment requests and budget/expense reports.
Contribute to LCV’s commitment to integrating racial justice and equity into the work we do that furthers equitable operations within the organization by maintaining processes with the goal that compliance and legal services are equitably and equally provided to all staff and programs requiring them.

Prepares daily bank balancing.

Works closely with other areas of college that can include other campuses, departments, and the foundation office.

As the Dean of Students, you are responsible for providing leadership in promoting a comprehensive program of student services that emphasizes a student-centered and holistic approach towards achieving student success. Essential Job Functions
Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Serves as the Title IX Coordinator for Students, and is responsible for the Student Conduct Code and student discipline.
Oversees the Student Services Office to include Evaluation and Testing, Make-up Testing/Testing Center, Advising and Orientation, Student Care Coordination, International Student Services/Study Abroad, Student Accessibility Services, Career Services, Veterans Services, and Student Activities.
Hires, supervises, and evaluates professional staff including the Associate Dean of Students, coordinators, advisors, and support staff.
Prepares and monitors budgets for the various areas of Student Services as well as the Student Activities budget(s).
Maintains collaborative relationship with Academic Affairs Deans regarding transfer issues (course scheduling/registration new course offerings, student issues, Career Exploration) and technical issues (program updates and pre-technical scheduling).
Directs an enhanced academic assessment system to include but not be limited to ACCUPLACER, ALEKS, ACT, CLEP, FAA and other professional certifications.
Serves as a resource person for international student activities and diversity issues in the academic curriculum and co-curricular programming.
Oversees student identification card distribution and Food Pantry.
Administers the student grievance process to include serving as ombudsman for student concerns.
Liaison with local, state, and federal agencies and other educational institutions.
Responsible for Student Conduct issues and questions. Collaborates with Public Safety regarding student conduct concerns.
Establishes a student culture where diversity is encouraged and where students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions, and exercise leadership.
Balances the needs of the individual while upholding the policies and processes of the College while considering equity for all students.
Deals effectively with emotionally charged situations and disruptive individuals and uses professional and appropriate language and behavior to provide positive college experiences.
Administers and manages the student emergency fund requests.
Collaborates and consults with Deans and with Student Affairs Leadership Team members on academic and/or student issues and concerns.
Conducts, arranges, and manages the hearings for Final Grade Appeals, Academic Integrity Violation Appeals, and Student Conduct Code violations. Directs the Title IX investigatory process for students.
Interprets federal ADA and Section 504 regulations and formulates institutional policies and procedures for serving qualified students with disabilities.
Prepares Student Conduct and Title IX (Sexual Harassment) trainings for students. Creates class/program presentations to students along with Public Safety, Student Health Clinic, and local non-profit.
Collaborates with legal counsel on Student Conduct Code updates and issues as well as with Title IX -Sexual Harassment Code updates (or rewrite) and issues.
Establishes and maintains relationships with the community, legislative bodies, commissions, accrediting agencies while representing the college and student services.
Analyzes data to develop long-range plans, establish objectives, and improve plans in student services.
Participates on internal and external committees or advisory boards as assigned.
Serves on the President’s Leadership Committee.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, or related field.
Five (5) years of experience in a leadership position as a student affairs professional in a post-secondary setting.
Must possess supervisory skills.
Working knowledge of pertinent federal statutes and regulations.
Knowledge of modern practices and techniques used in student support such as advising, counseling, assessment, and general and student services and practices.
Working knowledge of budget preparation and fiscal monitoring.

Working Conditions
Anticipated schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional hours during the evening and on weekends.

As the third-party administrator of the Flexible Housing Pool, the Center for Housing and Health (CHH) is charged with maintaining a portfolio of quality, readily accessible housing for program participants. The Flexible Housing Pool is a multisector investment in housing that aims to expand the number of units available to people in Chicago and Cook County experiencing homelessness.
The Youth Program Manager will coordinate the Flexible Housing Pool for homeless youth, ages 18-24 who are frequent users of health services, homeless shelters and legal/justice systems. This position will serve as the Center’s liaison to sub-contracted youth partner agencies providing permanent supportive housing and intensive case management. This position will offer direction to intensive case managers and supervisors about the implementation of the project’s policies and procedures and will have shared responsibility for the overall quality of services provided. The position also will be responsible for monitoring the housing stability, income maintenance, and health outcomes of program participants. CHH is a supporting organization of the AIDS Foundation Chicago.
The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $53,000.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management & Operations
Collaborate and coordinate with other FHP Managers to ensure a smooth transition from outreach to housing placements for youths enrolled into the program
Assign newly enrolled youths to subcontracted partner agency case managers
Convene and facilitate bi-monthly Systems Integration Team (SIT) meetings where subcontracted partner case management agencies, Hospital Partners, and other integral agencies/organizations will communicate and work collaboratively in meeting tenants’ goals and desired housing and health outcomes
Review and make decisions on tenant move requests
Monitor partner agencies’ Client Assistance Funds utilization
Serve as primary point of contact to project partners to support tenant needs and troubleshoot challenges
Support the partner agencies to ensure youth participants are matched to appropriate housing and service options
Upon hire, onboard new partner agency staff regarding program overview and operations, and the Case Worthy client-level database
