Job Responsibilities
Serves as the Violence Prevention (VP) Program Specialist for the Bureau of Violence Prevention Services for the Chicago Northern Region (CNR).

Four (4) years of professional experience utilizing the principles and practices of public and business administration.
Four (4) years of professional experience working with the principles of governmental accounting, program budgeting, personnel, statistics, and procurement, including an understanding of the Illinois Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA 30 ILCS 708) and related administrative grant rules including grant making procedures.
Four (4) years of professional experience ensuring accurate processing of documents with few if any errors.
Two (2) years of professional experience analyzing administrative problems and adopting an effective course of action.
Two (2) years of professional experience developing, installing, and evaluating new and revised methods, procedures.

Responsibilities:
Supervises work of team members during operations including accountability for job completion, coordination of logistics and overall welfare and performance of assigned personnel; assists with payroll tracking and approvals; creates weekly work schedules for assigned staff; completes performance evaluations for assigned staff; assists in the coordination and execution of staff trainings.
Ensures the safety and regulates conduct of center patrons; enforces center policies, rules, and regulations; provides customer service to patrons, including handling customer conflict and complaints; issues trespass warnings and enforces behavioral consequences grid.
Assists in development of procedures, guidelines, rules, and regulations for the operation of the recreation center; assists in the implementation of emergency action plan and responds to emergencies.
Completes registrations including payments; verifies cash drawer, closes out register and completes daily deposit reports; processes customer refunds; keeps inventory of office supplies and point-of-sale items and places orders.
Opens and closes the facility; monitors and oversees the facility activities; maintains the cleanliness of the facility which may include emptying trash cans, picking up litter, cleaning rest rooms, shelters and locker rooms; performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment, grounds and any facility structures; ensures compliance of facility rules, safety standards and sanitation requirements; inspects facility to help ensure the safe and proper conduct of patrons; schedules the use of meeting rooms and coordinates group rentals; assists with the setup of tables and chairs, audiovisual equipment as needed.
Completes monthly reports.
Requirements:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma; some work experience which shall have involved assisting the public, general record keeping and handling money; some supervisory experience preferred.
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Virginia driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record based on James City County’s criteria.

James City County’s Treasurer’s Office seeks an individual to perform responsible work assisting taxpayers, maintaining and processing bills, payments, ledgers, tax information, and complex fiscal or related records.
There are three levels of Accounting Technician distinguished by the level of work performed and the qualifications of the employee.
Accounting Technician I: $39,968 / year or higher DOQ Accounting Technician II: $42,734 / year or higher DOQ Accounting Technician III: $45,704 / year or higher DOQ
Responsibilities:
Posts daily activity to ledgers for County and fiscal agencies' funds, balancing each daily, monthly and/or annually.
Processes all types of payments received including those received in person, by mail, via the web or electronic fund transfer (EFT) for both County receivables as well as Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Select transactions (in person only).
Assist Delinquent Collections Supervisor with managing the Vehicle Withholding Program (DMV Stops) and Debt Set-off Program (tax return withholding).
Manages assigned portion of an aggressive delinquent tax collections program. Works with Delinquent Collections Supervisor to determine and implement accurate course of action including but not limited to: payment agreements/confessions of judgement, filing employer/bank liens, issuing Summons’ to Appear, assessing DMV Stops, and filing claims to withhold tax refunds.
Manages data as needed for state or locally mandated ordinances at or above ordinance requirements, to include billing and/or refunding of business and personal taxes based on adjustments made by the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office or other adjustments to accounts.
Assists taxpayers in person, by telephone, and by internet with all manner of inquiries; corresponds with taxpayers in a timely manner; serves as liaison between taxpayers and other departments when needed to ensure positive experiences for taxpayers whenever possible.
Interprets, explains, and applies materials such as laws, rules, policies, and procedures; keeps current with statute, policy, and procedural changes.
Closes out and balances cash registers for County and DMV; submits funds and documentation for further verification.
Requirements:
Considerable knowledge of data entry, automated financial recordkeeping systems and various microcomputer software packages; standard office procedures, practices and equipment; knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of accounting, tax, ledger recording, balancing and financial reporting; principles and processes for providing customer service including setting and meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Must possess reliable transportation to work site(s).
Skill in the use of computer software, especially Microsoft Office Suite; ability to make accurate mathematical calculations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees and the public; maintain complex records; assemble and organize data; prepare reports from such records; and exercise independent judgment, initiative, and attention to detail in accordance with established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.

The Operations Support Coordinator plays a critical role in helping the Division transition to the Future of Work and strengthen its overall operations by assisting with high-priority technology and operational knowledge management projects. The position will encourage correct and widespread usage of DER’s knowledge base and digital solutions. Projects may include but are not limited to the maintenance, enhancement, and user support of digital tools (i.e. databases for tracking ecological restoration project data; tools that integrate budgeting and internal controls; and software for indexing workflows and policies); building internal knowledge library; and documenting standard operating procedures. The position requires strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills. The position reports to the Operational Specialist, Management Analyst III and has no direct reports.

Support the development and enhancement of operational infrastructure needed to expand the Division’s impact on ecological restoration (30%).
Work collaboratively across programs and teams to assist in the capture and documentation of business needs and support development of process and IT based solutions to achieve operational, programmatic and divisional goals.

Collaborate with DER’s Operations Team to support and enhance data management strategies for ecological restoration project data, restoration metrics, fiscal and budget data, and other critical information.
