Job Description

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Mid-level System Administrator to support our Huntsville, AL location.

The candidate will perform duties for a Department of the Army Program Executive Office. The successful candidate will have significant and demonstrated knowledge of complex system and network architectures at multiple classification levels. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) package artifacts for networks and enclaves. The successful candidate will also provide first level user support and troubleshooting of IT issues to resolution for the Program Office. The candidate will also author technical papers and develop briefing presentations in support of the government customer.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5-10 years demonstrated experience with Windows Server domain connected networks and enclaves
  • Demonstrated experience with information systems deployments in an air-gapped environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II or III certified upon hire
  • Experience in information systems architecture, installation, STIG hardening, and maintenance within and across multiple classification levels
  • Experience with configuring and executing software, system, and vulnerability scanning tools and remediating findings
  • Experience with data redundancy and backup methodologies
  • Familiarity with JFAN/JSIG and/or ICD processes and regulations for authorizing information systems
  • Experience with administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, and other open-source operating systems
  • Experience with administration of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012,2016,2019..etc)
  • Experience in User account and access control management (Active Directory, LDAP, User Access Control) in a domain or stand-alone environment.
  • Automation with bash, Powershell, Ansible, WSUS, SCCM, or other orchestration tools
  • Experience with Cisco switch/router configuration and deployment and interconnection of various network architectures.
  • Travel: Up to 25%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

Candidates with a BA/BS degree or equivalent require a minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience. Candidates without a BA/BS or equivalent require a minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience.

Physical Job Requirements:

The ability to lift up to 50 lb is required. The physical ability to install, inspect and maintain computer systems, networks, and wiring in enclosed spaces is also required.

Desired Skills:

  • Virtualization experience with VMWare vSphere, ESXI, or Hyper-V deployment and maintenance.
  • Operating systems, networking, or higher tier computing environment certifications such as RHCSA, Microsoft Certified Professional (Server/Infrastructure focus)
  • Cloud administration experience with Azure, Amazon, or Google PaaS, IaaS, or SaaS activities
  • Demonstrable Cyber, Systems, or networking experience while in uniformed service
