Basic Function
Responsible for all day-to-day activities of the athletics development/Cowboy Joe Club, development of fundraising programs and collection of gifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the day-to-day management/operation of the Cowboy Joe Club.
- Oversees/coordinates annual fund.
- Communicates/coordinates with University of Wyoming Foundation in regards to donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Assists in major capital campaigns.
- Manages a portfolio of 100+ donors.
- Coordinates and assists with special event fundraising activities within the Athletic Department (e.g., auctions, golf tournaments, outreach activities, special projects, etc.).
- Coordinates management and sales of premium seating (football, men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling and volleyball).
- Oversees priority point implementation for priority seating and parking for football, basketball and post-season events.
- Participates in Cowboy Joe Club Board of Directors’ meetings.
- Assists with donor travel.
- Assists in the coordination of all fundraising activities and works in conjunction with the UW Foundation and campus development.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Assists with other duties/projects as assigned/directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 3 years of progressive development and/or sales experience
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, oral & written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, & steward donors at various giving levels.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- At least 2 years of intercollegiate athletics experience
- Major gift fundraising experience of $25K+
- Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, specifically regarding student-athletes and donor interaction
