Health Information Specialist

Salary Range: $3,131 - $4,693

Health Information Specialist: Medical Record Processing (40% Remote)

In this position, you will assemble and analyze medical records for completeness upon paitient discharge. You will work closely with clinical staff, like medical staff, nursing, and social work to educate on documentation matters. You will assist and educate clinical staff in meeting standards for record documentation and maintenance. You will also support other Specialists with transcription work.


Health Information Specialist: Medical Record Transciptionist (80% Remote)

In this position, your primary duties will include Forms and File Coordination, Data Integrity, MR Assembly and Analysis, Release of Information, and Forensic evaluation/Psychology report processing and Avatar data corrections.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of experience related to processing, maintaining, compiling, and/or reporting on patient information for health requirements or standards in a manner consistent with the healthcare industry;

OR

  • An Associate's degree in Health Information Technology from an accredited program;

OR

  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Requested Attributes

  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills along with good written and oral communication skills for a variety of customers (staff, patient and public) to answer questions and explain information, policies and decisions as needed.
  • Must have intermediate PC skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe DC.
  • Ability to use other collaborative tools such as MS Teams and Sharepoint.
  • Experience with hybrid (paper and electronic) medical records in an inpatient hospital setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Oregon Revised Statutes related to disclosure of patient information.
  • Registered Health Information Technician preferred (RHIT)
