Lifeguard I

THIS IS A NON-CIVIL SERVICE POSITION

Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks’ Aquatics Division is seeking dependable and qualified individuals to fill these seasonal/temporary non-civil service Life Guard I positions. 

May work 20-40 hours per week

Individuals selected for this position will be required to pass a physical exam, a drug & alcohol screening and a criminal background check prior to being appointed.

* This position may be eligible for a $500 seasonal bonus

Position Description

The selected candidates will enforce the rules of the swimming pool and facility, inspect the facility on a daily basis and report unsafe conditions or equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requirements – Minimum Age 15 (A work permit is required for those under the age of 18.)

Required Certifications – Lifeguard, CPR & First Aid and AED certification for Professional Rescuers issued by the American Red Cross or an equivalent certification.

NOTE: This is a position of Trust. Those eligible that are under final consideration for appointment will be required to authorize the release of criminal conviction information and submit to a physical examination, which includes drug and alcohol testing.
