Are you a journey level carpenter seeking to make a difference?

 

Oregon State Hospital (OSH) provides patient-centered, psychiatric treatment for adults from throughout the state who need hospital-level care. The hospital's primary goal is to help people recover from their illness and return to the community. Services include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as community outreach and peer support.

 

Apply today and your role at Oregon State Hospital will be to support patients, visitors and staff with construction and repairs to the facility described above, to maintain a safe environment, to increase the level of patient care!

 

In this position, you will:

  • Remodel and repair existing structures. This may involve demolition, framing walls, doors and ceilings.  Installing windows, doors, trim, locks and hardware.  Installing finish goods such as wall and floor coverings, and ceiling grid systems, cabinets and fixtures.  Roof repairs, tear-offs and installation.  Gutter, siding and flashing repairs.  Builds foundation or sidewalk forms, pour and finish concrete. 
  • Repairs hospital furniture, such as tables, chairs, benches and recreation equipment.
  • Construct and install cabinets, tables, boxes, displays, counters, shelves and other custom fixtures.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four years experience as a skilled carpenter. The experience must include form building; rough framing; outside and inside finishing; layout; care and use of tools and woodworking machinery; blueprint reading; and application of safety standards and codes;

OR

  • Completion of an apprenticeship (four years) under a skilled carpenter which included experience as listed above. Be sure a copy of your Journeyman Carpenters card is attached to your application form.

 

Requested Attributes

  • Experience in creating and maintaining a work environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity among team members and the people we serve.
  • Good knowledge of building and repair skills, familiar with trade stadards, and skill to use most tools of the trade.
  • Knowledge of commercial steel frame construction.
  • This postion requires a drivers license and acceptable driving record as you may be required to commute to the Junction City, Oregon campus on occation.
