Determine availability of parts and estimate delivery time. Maintain contact with inventory suppliers and vendors. Arrange and coordinate pick-up and delivery of orders and distribute parts and supplies.
Receive and fill requisitions for specialized orders. Research and locate resources for non-standard parts and special tools. Determine the appropriateness and feasibility of substituting parts based on knowledge of interchangeability of such parts.
Inspect parts, supplies and equipment for quality, quantity and correctness. Verify and check items received against parts catalogs and manufacturer's identification, model or parts number.
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to maintain adequate parts inventories and obtain necessary parts for repair activities. Maintain inventory of applicable and current parts and take periodic inventory of the parts room. Order, receive, store, issue, control and maintain an adequate inventory of equipment parts, supplies, accessories and related tools and equipment. Identify and select items for issue as requested.

This is an entry level, single classification able to perform all duties with general supervision.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications to continue in the recruitment process:
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in truck equipment warehouse or automotive parts supply work which provided knowledge of automotive and related equipment parts and supplies.
Licenses and Certificates :
Must possess within thirty (30) days of hire and maintain throughout employment, the equivalent to a valid Nevada Class C driver's license.
Must possess within thirty (30) days of hire and maintain throughout employment, a forklift certification.
Must possess within one (1) year of hire and maintain throughout employment, an ASE Parts Technician Certificate.
Example of Essential Duties:
Order, receive and maintain equipment parts, accessories, supplies and special tools to be used in the maintenance, service and repair of the City's vehicles and equipment.
Provide accounts payable, purchasing and procurement services. Prepare and process purchase orders. Maintain computer and manual record system on purchase orders, parts, tools and supplies. Prepare and maintain various forms and reports. Enter and retrieve data from an assigned computer. Provide service writing.
Identify and select parts and tools as requested by mechanics and other departments. Check request lists to ensure completeness and accuracy of ordered items. Determine availability of parts and estimate delivery time. Maintain contact with inventory suppliers and vendors. Arrange and coordinate pick-up and delivery of orders and distribute parts and supplies.
Receive and fill requisitions for specialized orders. Research and locate resources for non-standard parts and special tools. Determine the appropriateness and feasibility of substituting parts based on knowledge of interchangeability of such parts.
Inspect parts, supplies and equipment for quality, quantity and correctness. Verify and check items received against parts catalogs and manufacturer's identification, model or parts number.
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to maintain adequate parts inventories and obtain necessary parts for repair activities. Maintain inventory of applicable and current parts and take periodic inventory of the parts room. Maintain storage areas in a clean and orderly condition and operate a forklift and other standard warehouse and storeroom equipment as needed.
Prepare and submit required forms for vehicle registration. Process application and maintain accuracy of vehicle registration, license and title. Maintain emission compliance with the State of Nevada, current records of vehicle warranties and vehicle records including fuel usage records.
Respond to emergency calls in off-hours as required and respond to emergencies when assigned. Mentor and train others in your work knowledge, skills, and abilities.
